Salvation Army faces suit over falling stack of hangers

A woman is suing the Salvation Army, claiming she was injured when a stack of hangers fell on her in one of its Chicago stores.

Ramona Garcia filed a lawsuit Sept. 15 in Cook County Circuit Court against The Salvation Army, individually and doing business as The Salvation Army Services Inc.

According to the complaint, Garcia was entering the defendants' premises on North Union Avenue in Chicago on Sept. 17, 2012, when she was struck by a falling stack of hangers.

The defendant is accused of being negligent in failing to maintain the premises in a safe condition for customers.

Garcia is represented by attorney John F. Dziedziak of Dziedziak & Marcus in Chicago.
