An area mail carrier is suing over claims she was bit by a dog while delivering mail.
Channel Reeks-Randale filed a lawsuit Oct. 1 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Karen and Nicholas Cipriano.
According to the complaint, Reeks-Randale was delivering mail to the defendants' home on South Fairfield Avenue in Lombard on Oct. 3, 2012, when their dog bit her knee and caused her to fall. The defendants are accused of being negligent in failing to restrain their dog or warn the plaintiff of the dog's propensity for violence.
Reeks-Randale is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Sturgis E. Chadwick III of Chadwick & Lakerdas in Chicago.
