Scales 150x150

A man is suing the city and a driver he claims caused a collision on a service road at O'Hare Airport when he reached for a pair of glasses he had dropped.

Jose Lajara-Maysonet filed a lawsuit Oct. 6 in the Cook County Circuit Court against James Mellon and the City of Chicago.

According to the suit, Lajara-Maysonet was driving a van within the exterior secure area of Chicago O'Hare International Airport on Oct. 6, 2013, when his vehicle was struck by a city-owned vehicle driven by Mellon, who apparently veered reaching for a pair of glasses.

Lajara-Maysonet claims he sustained injuries, and accuses the defendants of negligence and willful and wanton conduct.

Lajara-Maysonet is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by the Law Office of Andrew S. Kryder LLC in Chicago.
