A man is suing over claims a woman formerly engaged to his father has failed to return the 9.49 carat diamond engagement ring.
Barry Hershman filed a petition for an order of replevin Oct. 1 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Bonni Gross.
According to the filing, Hershman and Gross got engaged on July 24, 2013, and Hershman purchased a $265,000 diamond engagement ring. The petition states the engagement was broken off on Sept. 15 of this year, but Gross has failed to return the ring.
The action was filed by Scot Hershman, Barry's son, who has power of attorney as Barry is incapacitated, the petition states.
Hershman is seeking a replevin for the return of the ring and is being represented in the case by attorney Meighan A. Harmon of Schiller Du Canto & Fleck LLP in Chicago.
