Passenger in vehicle allegedly hit by city bus sues CTA, driver

A woman is suing over claims she was injured when a city bus hit the vehicle she was a passenger in.

Darnita Watt filed a lawsuit Sept. 30 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the Chicago Transportation Authority and Samuel Varner, individually and as an agent of CTA.

According to the complaint, Watt was a passenger in a vehicle traveling northbound on Pulaski Road on Oct. 1, 2013, when the vehicle was rear-ended by a CTA bus driven by Varner. Watt claims she sustained injuries and accuses the defendants of negligence.

Watt is seeking more than $30,000 in damages, plus costs, and is being represented in the case by Chicago attorney Mark Whiteside in Chicago.
