A Cook County man is suing over claims his ex-girlfriend and business associate tried to slander his and his company's reputations.
Damion Perry and Provencrown Builders filed a lawsuit Oct. 8 in Cook County Circuit Court against Kristiann Paveloff and Paveloff Properties Inc., alleging libel and slander.
According to the complaint, Paveloff Properties and Provencrown entered into contracts for the servicing of rehab on residential and commercial properties on May 1, 2013, and during the course of the business relationship, Perry and Paveloff entered into a romantic relationship outside of their respective marriages.
Perry claims that when the romantic relationship went sour, the business relationship did as well, and then Paveloff began attacking Provencrown's reputation on the Internet, including on Facebook.
Perry further alleges that Paveloff conspired with his soon-to-be-ex-wife by making untrue statements about his fitness as a parent to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Service, causing him to temporarily lose custody and visitation rights of two children and spent great sums of money to clear his name.
The plaintiffs are seeking more than $2 million in damages and are represented by attorney Adrian P. Zeno of Zeno Law Office in Chicago.
