Mother of minor girl blames man for daughter's death

Scales 150x150

A woman is suing over claims her minor daughter died from injuries sustained when she was enticed to stay the night in an adult male's residence, where she was exposed to illegal drugs.

Nicole Brooks, individually and as special administrator of her daughter's estate, filed a wrongful death lawsuit Oct. 14 in Cook County Circuit Court against Eric. P. Olson.

According to the complaint, Olson convinced Brooks' minor daughter to stay at his residence on July 25 in exchange for sexual favors, despite the fact she was under the legal age of consent. Brooks claims Olson exposed her daughter to illegal drug possession and usage, and she sustained injuries that eventually led to her death.

Brooks contends that Olson's acts constitute battery under Illinois law, and he is accused of wrongful death under the Gender Violence Act.

Brooks is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is represented by attorney Jeffrey S. Deutschman of Deutschman & Associates in Chicago.
