A Cook County woman is suing a trio of medical providers, accusing them of failing to diagnose a lack of blood flow in her artery.

Zarina Broachwala filed a lawsuit Oct. 14 in Cook County Circuit Court against Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgical Associates, Dr. Aswath Subram and Adventist Hinsdale Hospital, also known as Adventist Midwest Health.

According to the complaint, Broachwala came under the treatment of the defendants on April 15, 2013, when a CT scan of her left leg was performed. She claims the scan revealed the absence of blood flow in a segment of an artery, but that the defendants failed to diagnose, treat and perform immediate surgery.

Broachwala asserts she suffered permanent and disabling injuries as a result of the defendants' negligence.

She is seeking more than $50,000 in damages, plus costs, and is represented by attorney Michael Cetina of Walsh, Knippen, Pollock & Cetina in Wheaton.

The suit names Dr. Kevin Hilton and Adventist Health Partners Inc., also known as Midwest Bone & Joint Specialists, as respondents in discovery.
