Patron of Bedford Park bar accuses security staff of battery, assault

A man is suing over claims he was injured by security staff of a bar in Bedford Park.

Nahum Castrejon filed a lawsuit Oct. 20 in Cook County Circuit Court against Buzz Bomb Bar & Grill, Ronnie C. Aikens, Donald G. Rivas and an unknown corporation.

According to the complaint, Castrejon was at Buzz Bomb Bar on West 73rd Street on Oct. 20, 2012, when Aikens, who was hired through an unknown corporation to provide security services, allegedly grabbed him without just cause, forced him against the wall, put him in a headlock and threatened him.

Rivas, another member of security personnel, also grabbed Castrejon and threatened him, shoved him toward the door and threw him face first onto the pavement, the suit alleges.

The suit includes counts against Buzz Bomb alleging premises liability and negligent hiring, retention and supervision. Aikens and Rivas are accused of battery and assault. The suit also accuses the unknown corporation of negligent hiring, retention and supervision.

Castrejon is seeking more than $50,000 in damages, plus costs, and is represented by attorneys at Fabbrini Law Group of Chicago.
