Student sues Lincoln Technical Institute, teacher over injury

A Cook County man is suing over claims he was injured while participating in a technical institute program.

Reginald Williams filed a lawsuit Oct. 17 in Cook County Circuit Court against Lincoln Technical Institute Inc. and William Pyke.

According to the complaint, Williams was a student at Lincoln Technical Institute in the Melrose Park. He claims he was participating in the breaks and suspension program supervised by Pyke on Oct. 22, 2012, when he sustained injuries trying to take a tire off the rim of a car.

Williams accuses the defendants of negligence and willful and wanton conduct in failing to properly supervise the program and train Pyke in proper school procedures.

He is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is represented by attorney Adam M. Gilbert of Sherwood Law Group in Chicago.
