A man is suing his former employer over claims he was not paid commission on commercial flooring job sales.
William Harrington filed a lawsuit Oct. 20 in Cook County Circuit Court against Great Northern Flooring Inc. and its president, Susan Martin.
According to the complaint, on May 7, 2010, the defendants retained Harrington to sell commercial flooring jobs for a 50 percent commission, and paid him accordingly until December 2011, when they stopped paying him and refused to provide an accounting of the commission due to him.
Harrington claims his job was terminated Oct. 11, 2012, and he still hasn't been paid. He accuses the defendants of breach of oral contract, unjust enrichment and violations of the Illinois Sales Representative, Interest and Wage Payment and Collection acts.
Harrington is seeking three times the amount he asserts is owed to him pursuant to the Sales Representative Act, plus attorney fees. He is represented by attorneys David L. Lee and Jennifer Weiss of Law Offices of David L. Lee in Chicago.
