Alleged cat attack leads to lawsuit against Oak Park woman

A woman is suing over claims she was attacked by a cat on a sidewalk in Oak Park.

Julia G. Campione filed a lawsuit Oct. 20 in Cook County Circuit Court against Wendy Stasell, alleging negligence and violations of the Illinois Animal Control Act.

According to the complaint, Campione was walking on the public sidewalk near Stasell's property in Oak Park on June 16, when she was attacked by the defendant's cat, which scratched, bit, or clawed at her.

Campione is seeking more than $30,000 in damages, plus costs, and is represented by attorney Michael P. Concannon of Michael P. Concannon Ltd. in Chicago.
