A Chicago law firm is suing a client it claims has failed to pay his more than $100,000 legal bill.

Williams Montgomery & John filed a lawsuit Oct. 8 in Cook County Circuit Court against Stephen M. Jackson, alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the parties entered into an agreement in July 2007 for Williams Montgomery & John to represent Jackson as a plaintiff in a lawsuit. The firm claims it rendered the services promised under the contract, but Jackson hasn't paid.

The firm claims Jackson still owes a balance of more than $116,200. It is seeking that amount, plus interest and attorneys fees, and is being represented by Brian E. Lewis of Walinski & Associates in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number: 2014L011176.
