A man is suing the owner of his apartment building, claiming he was injured when the ceiling fell on him.
Byron Granville Jr. filed suit Oct. 29 in Cook County Circuit Court against Ronald Larrieu.
According to the complaint, Granville resided in an apartment on East 73rd Street in Chicago owned by Larrieu, who was responsible for its maintenance. He claims he sustained severe injuries on Oct. 27, 2013, when the ceiling collapsed and fell on him.
Granville accuses the defendant of being negligent in maintaining the building. He is seeking more than $30,000 in damages and is represented by attorney Steven M. Dicker of Dicker & Dicker in Chicago.
