A woman is suing her medical providers, accusing them of diagnosing her brain tumor more than two years after tests were taken.

Rosa Aldridge filed a medical malpractice lawsuit Oct. 27 in Cook County Circuit Court against Northshore University Healthsystem, Chicago Institute of Neurosurgery and Neurosearch Medical Group, Neurologic & Orthopedic Hospital of Chicago, and all other entities doing business as CINN.

According to the complaint, Aldridge came under the care of the CINN medical group on Nov. 1, 2010, when tests were performed on her for the management of her multiple sclerosis. She says the defendants disregarded her clinical history and failed to properly interpret diagnostic tests, diagnose and communicate the results of tests.

As a result of the defendants' negligence, Aldridge asserts she did not become aware of the tumor until March 2013, when the tests taken in 2010 were read as disclosing the presence of the brain tumor. The delayed diagnosis led to a delay in treatment, the suit states.

The complaint names Drs. Charles C. Wang, Robert Havey and Alan Micco, as well as Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation, THSC and Ravenswood Hospital Medical Center as respondents in discovery.

Aldridge is represented by attorney Stephen I. Lane of Lane & Lane in Chicago.
