Toys "R" Us is facing a lawsuit from a woman who claims the negligence of staff members at one of its suburban stores led her to slip and fall on a puddle of soap.

Sarah Frys filed the claim in Cook County Circuit Court on Nov. 24 against Toys “R” Us Inc., Toys "R" Us Delaware Inc. and Geoffrey LLC.

According to the complaint, Frys slipped and fell on a puddle of spilled soap at the Toys “R” Us store on East Golf Road in Schaumburg on Nov. 26, 2012. Frys claims staff members at the store knew about the spill, but did not clean it up in a timely fashion.

Frys is suing for damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs, and is represented by attorney Benjamin B. Kelly of the Vrdolyak Law Group in Chicago.

This is a report on a civil lawsuit filed at Cook County Circuit Court. The details in this report come from an original complaint filed by a plaintiff. Please note that a complaint represents an accusation by a private individual, not the government. It is not an indication of guilt and it represents only one side of the story.
