College student suing two men after alleged attack

A University of Illinois student is suing two men who allegedly attacked him.

Patrick Williams filed the lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court on Dec. 3 against Taylor James Arguello and Anthony Manzi, citing battery and negligence.

According to the complaint, Williams was walking on the Illinois campus in Champaign at about 2:15 a.m. Jan. 18, 2013, when Arguello and Manzi hit Williams in the face, causing him to fall and hit his head on the ground. He sustained permanent injuries from the battery, the suit states.

Williams seeks damages for medical fees and trauma, plus court fees. He is represented by attorney Melanie J. VanOverloop, of Anesi, Ozmon, Rodin, Novak & Kohen in Chicago.
