A woman is suing a group of medical providers over claims their alleged malpractice led to her late husband’s death.
Francine Montoro, as special administrator of the estate of Joseph Montoro filed suit Jan. 12 in Cook County Circuit Court against VHS of Illinois Inc., doing business as MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, MacNeal Physicians Group, Heart Care Centers of Illinois, and several individual physicians.
According to the complaint, Joseph went to defendants between June 2010 and January 2013 for cardiac diagnosis, consultation and communication, testing, lab work monitoring, imaging studies and medication management issues.
Montoro claims the defendants' malpractice led to Joseph's Jan. 11, 2013 death and seeks more than $50,000 in monetary damages. She is represented by attorney William P. McGowen III of McGowen & McGowen in Wheaton.
