The owners of a popular wing joint in Calumet City are facing a lawsuit from a customer who claims she suffered injuries after being served an appetizer containing beans.

Stephanie Jordan filed suit Jan. 21 in Cook County Circuit Court against Buffalo Wild Wings Grill and Bar, Cal City Wings, AMC Calumet City Inc. and Diversified Restaurant Holdings Inc.

According to the complaint, Jordan purchased the appetizer sampler on Dec. 30, 2013 while at Buffalo Wild Wings at 1250 Torrence Ave. in Calumet City. Prior to consuming the food, Jordan claims she asked an employee about its ingredients, specifically whether it contained any beans and/or legumes.

Even though an employee told her the appetizer sample did not include any beans and/or legumes, Jordan asserts it did and as such, was "unfit for consumption, defective and unreasonably dangerous" likely because of an allergy, although the suit does not say so.

The suit was submitted by Jacquelyn A. Fernandez of Vrdolyak Law Group in Chicago
