A Chicago woman is suing a neighbor and building management company over claims her two daughters were bit by a dog.
Jessica Tallian, individually and on behalf of her two minor daughters, filed suit Jan. 7 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Patricia Torrez and Rockwell Building Management.
According to the complaint, Tallian's daughters sustained injuries on May 22, 2013, when a neighbor’s pit bull attacked them without provocation while they were playing in their yard in the 3000 Block of West 21st Place.
Tallian claims Torrez allowed the dog to roam free and failed to keep its shots updated or prevent the injuries from occurring. She accuses building management of allowing the dog to reside on the premises without a securely fenced yard.
She alleges her daughters endured physical pain, mental suffering, medical expenses and disfigurement. She seeks more than $50,000 in damages and is represented by Deutschman & Associates in Chicago.
