Lincoln Square liquor store faces suit over customer's trip on pallet

A liquor store in Lincoln Square is being sued by a customer who claims he fell over a pallet left out in an aisle.

Rodolfo Flores filed a lawsuit Jan. 21 in Cook County Circuit Court against Cardinal Wine & Spirits, owned by Christ’s Town & Country Liquor Mart Inc.

According to the complaint, Flores was at the store at 4905 W. Lincoln Ave., on March 17, 2013, when he tripped over a wooden pallet in one of the aisles. As a result of the trip and fall, Flores claims he sustained injuries that led him to incur medical expenses.

He alleges the defendants failed to properly maintain the safety of their store, and should have kept the aisle clear, or blocked off the aisle, so patrons would not be hurt.

Flores seeks damages in excess of $50,000 and the cost of the suit. He is represented by Marc J. Shuman & Associates of Chicago.
