A woman is suing a group of medical providers, claiming their negligence led to the death of her husband.
Sybil Tyler, individually and as the administrator of William Tyler's estate, filed a lawsuit Feb. 4 in Cook County Circuit Court against University of Chicago Medical Center, University of Chicago Medicine, Associated Urological Specialists, Advocate Health and Hospitals Corp. and Drs. Jae Kim and Ikechukwu Oguejiofor.
According to the complaint, William was a patient at University of Chicago Medical Center between Feb. 4, 2009 and Feb. 4, 2013, during which time he received medical, surgical and/or nursing care from the defendants. Tyler claims the defendants' failure to evaluate and monitor William's condition, administer proper lab work, obtain consultations and communicate diagnostic results led to his death.
Tyler seeks compensation in excess of $50,000, plus court costs, and is represented by attorney John MacInerney of Hofeld and Schaffner in Chicago.
