Attack at South Side bar leads to lawsuit

A woman is suing a Chatham bar that she claims allowed its "barmaid personnel" to attack her.

Darlene Hale filed suit Feb. 18 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Red Repper's Lounge, a bar at 428 East 87th Street on the city's South Side.

According to the complaint, Hale was at Red Pepper's Lounge on Aug. 2, 2010, when she was assaulted and battered by "barmaid personnel," causing her to sustain injuries.

Hale claims the bar had a duty to keep her safe and failed to do so by allowing the assault to occur. She accuses the defendant of having improperly trained security personnel who failed to protect her, among other alleged acts of carelessness and negligence.

She is seeking at least $50,000 in damages and is represents by The Vrdolyak Law Group in Chicago.
