A Cook County man is suing over claims he sustained injuries while using a piece of exercise equipment.
Matthew Nissenbaum filed suit Feb. 23 in Cook County Circuit Court against Ontel Products Corp., as a corporation and doing business as Pro Fit, Iron Gym and Iron Gym Extreme, all of Fairfield, New Jersey.
According to the complaint, Nissenbaum bought a piece of recreational exercise equipment known as the Iron Gym Xtreme from the defendants and while using the upper body bar on August 5, 2013, sustained injuries when it malfunctioned.
Claiming that the Iron Gym Xtreme was defective, not accompanied by adequate safety warnings and unsafe to use, Nissenbaum seeks at least $50,000 in damages, plus attorneys’ fees and costs. He is represented by the Law Offices of Richard N. Rosenberg in Arlington Heights.
