A woman is suing The Salvation Army over injuries she alleges she sustained after tripping over a floor mat.
Carrie Strahan filed a lawsuit March 10 in Cook County Circuit Court against The Salvation Army and Salvation Army Services Inc., alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, on Dec. 19, 2013, while shopping on the defendant’s premises at 1250 W. 119th St. in Chicago, Strahan tripped and fell on a rolled-up floor mat that had been left out in an area traversed by customers.
She accuses the defendants of failing to use a properly placed, safely flattened mat and warning customers of the mat’s hazardous position.
Strahan seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus attorney fees and costs, and is represented by Chicago attorneys Nicholas Faklis of Faklis & Tallis and Robert M. Warsaski of the Law Offices of Robert M. Warsaski.
