A woman is suing the city and a maintenance contractor over a slip and fall at O'Hare International Airport.

Helen Klein filed suit March 16 in Cook County Circuit Court against the City of Chicago, which operates the airport, and United Service Companies, which contracts with the airport for janitorial work.

According to the complaint, Klein was walking in an area between the B and C concourses in Terminal 1 on May 27, 2014, when she slipped and fell on a wet area of the floor. She accuses the defendants of failing to maintain the airport in a reasonably safe condition and keep the concourse free of hazardous conditions, specifically water, as well as not warning her about the dangerous condition created by the water on the floor.

Because of the fall, Klein says she suffered internal and external injuries, pain and suffering, and diminished capacity to tend to everyday affairs.

She seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus attorney fees and costs, and is represented by attorney Richard Rosenblum of Rubin, Machado & Rosenblum in Chicago.
