Woman accuses Berwyn bar of negligence in fall

A suburban bar and grill is facing a lawsuit from a customer who claims she fractured her leg after slipping in the entryway.

Julia Horn filed suit March 18 in the Cook County Circuit Court against 16th Street Liquors Inc.

According to the complaint, Horn went to the defendant's bar and grill at 6808 W. 16th St. on Jan. 13, when she slipped on ice in the entryway, causing to her fall and sustain injuries.

She accuses the defendant of failing to properly maintain its premises, remove the ice and repair the overhanging awning above the entryway so ice and/or snow wouldn't accumulate on the overhang, drip on the ground and freeze.

Horn is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is represented by Tinley Park attorney Roy Olson.
