A Rolling Meadows couple is facing a lawsuit from a woman who claims their dog attacked her in their basement.
Maria Molinare filed suit March 11 in the Cook County Circuit Court against John and Dawn Rovetto, alleging negligence and violations of the Illinois Animal Control Act.
According to the complaint, Molinare was an invitee at the Rovettos' home in the 2900 block of Starling Lane on Aug. 24, 2013, when she was sitting on the sofa in the basement watching TV.
She accuses the couple of owning a dog they knew was dangerous and failing to properly restrain it. As a result of the dog attack, which the suit says was unprovoked, Monlinare contends she sustained multiple injuries to her face and lips.
She is seeking damages and is represented by James L. Allegretti of Allegretti & Associates in Park Ridge.
