A Chicago waitress is suing a patron she claims hit her in the face with a glass.

Bessie J. Kaufhold filed suit March 16 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Vanessa Suarez, alleging battery and negligence.

According to the complaint, Kaufhold was a waitress at the Grand Bar, 1600 W. Grand Ave. in Chicago, on March 16, 2013, when Suarez struck her in the head and face with a glass.

Kaufhold claims she sustained injuries, including a large laceration on the left side of her face, as a result of the defendant's actions.

She is seeking damages and is represented by Gabriel P. Hardy of Goodman Law Offices in Chicago.
