Trucker sues transportation firm, driver over fall

A trucker working for SAIA, Inc. trucking company is suing a freight consolidation and distribution facility in Markham over injuries he sustained in a fall.

Jack Lampo filed a lawsuit March 11 in Cook County Circuit Court against Protrans International, Inc., Western Dedicated, L.P., doing business as Millenial Transport Services, and Herman Levy citing negligence.

According to the lawsuit, Lampo was standing on a dock plate at Protrans on Oct. 15, 2013, when the plate collapsed after a truck driven by Herman Levy pulled away from the loading dock. The suit claims Lampo was injured after falling four to five feet.

Lampo is seeking in excess of $100,000, plus costs. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Robert J. Wagner of Crystal Lake.
