A Cook County man is suing a liquor establishment and two of its security guards over claims he was injured in a beating at the hands of guards outside the business.
Melvin Bradley filed a lawsuit March 10 in Cook County Circuit Court against 1,000 Liquors, Inc., doing business as 1,000 Liquors/Big City Tap, as well as two unidentified security guards at the business citing injuries he sustained between 2 and 3 a.m. July 19, 2014, while allegedly being attacked outside the business by the two guards.
The suit states that Bradley was beaten with a baton in the head and slammed to the ground by one guard, after which the other officer struck him about the head and face. Bradley states that he did nothing to prompt the incident.
Bradley is seeking unspecified damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Neal S. Gainsberg of Gainsberg Law, P.C., in Chicago.
