Transportation company sues trucking firm for breach of contract

A Bensenville transportation firm is suing a Palatine tractor-trailer dealership for breach of contract.

According to a lawsuit filed March 3 in Cook County Circuit Court, AmeriFreight Systems Inc. is suing Northwest Trucks Inc. On Nov. 26, 2014, the lawsuit states, AmeriFreight bought 100 new Freightliner Cascadia Sleepers for $108,529 each, as well as 50 new Freightliner Cascadia Day Cabs for $94,335 each.

Also part of the contract was a stipulation that Northwest would buy 50 of AmeriFreight's used trucks at $90,000 each.

AmeriFreight claims Northwest didn't live up to its end of the contract.

Amerifreight Systems seeks $911,200, plus costs.

The plaintiff is represented by Ivo Tchernev of the Law Offices of Jacobson and Tchernev Ltd. in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 15-L-2176.
