A Cook County woman has sued a Downers Grover grocer, alleging negligence caused her to fall.
Irma Gilley filed a lawsuit March 19 in Cook County Circuit Court against Jewel Food Stores, doing business as Jewel Osco, alleging negligence.
According to to the complaint, on Aug. 17, 2013, Gilley was shopping at Jewel Osco at 6215 Main St., Downers Grove, when she slipped on a slippery substance that should have been cleaned up by the owner. The suit alleges Gilley sustained permanent injuries.
Gilley seeks in excess of $50,000, plus costs. She is represented by attorney J. Thomas Chute of Turcey Chute in Chicago.
