Estate alleges negligence vs driver, car owner in death of Indian citizen struck, killed in Tinley Park crosswalk

The estate of an Indian citizen has sued the driver who allegedly hit and killed the man while he was walking in a pedestrian crosswalk in Tinley Park.

Nimisha Shah, special administrator of the estate of Rajendrakumar G. Shah, filed a lawsuit March 13 in Cook County Circuit Court against Michael Epley, driver of the vehicle, and Susan Epley, owner of the vehicle.

According to the complaint, on June 6, 2013, Michael Epley struck and killed Shah, described in the suit as a "resident of the Republic of India," while Shah was crossing the road at 159th Street and 80th Avenue.

Nimisha Shah seeks damages in excess of $100,000, plus costs. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Christopher W. Holwell, of Chicago.
