A female bus driver has sued her company, alleging sexual harassment dating to 2010.
Rebecca Fells, of Cook County, filed suit April 10 in Cook County Circuit Court against the Illinois School Bus Company Inc., of Crestwood, alleging liability in a series of incidents dating to February 2010.
According to the complaint, Fells worked as a school bus driver for the defendant beginning Feb. 10, 2010 and ISBCI failed to take corrective action against a co-worker in response to his alleged harassment of Fells.
The suit says coworker Kevin Tillman sexually harassed Fells from 2010 through 2013 and that he touched her inappropriately, made suggestive comments, exposed himself and made unwanted aggressive physical contact starting in late 2010.
The plaintiff alleges others witnessed these actions and other employees acted aggressively toward her following her complaints, engaging in further deliberate acts of harassment while accusing her of retaliation.
The plaintiff cites retaliatory behavior and inappropriate disciplinary response and holds ISBCI responsible for sexual harassment.
Fells seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus attorney fees and costs. She is represented by Matthew Monahan and Karen Doran of the Legal Assistance Foundation in Chicago.
