A Chicago man has sued the city of Chicago and one of its drivers, citing injuries he suffered in a vehicle accident.

Daniel Gatlin filed a lawsuit April 13 in Cook County Circuit Court against the city and Frank Kroll.

According to the complaint, on June 5, 2014, Gatlin was driving east on 75th Street near South Lafayette Avenue, as Kroll, driving a vehicle owned by the city of Chicago, was driving east in the same direction and section of 75th Street. The suit says Kroll collided with Gatlin's vehicle, negligently and carelessly operating his vehicle at an excessive speed, failing to stop or to avoid imminent danger, failing to keep a proper and sufficient lookout for Gatlin's vehicle, failing to keep his vehicle under proper and sufficient control, failing to give any warning signal by sounding the horn, and negligently and carelessly rear-ending the plaintiff's vehicle.

The plaintiff suffered injuries and medical care expenses, the suit says.

Gatlin seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs and attorney fees. He is represented by attorney Peter Zneimer of Zneimer and Zneimer, of Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number: 15-L-3777.
