Bank sues surgical services business for unpaid debt

A bank has sued a surgical clinic and agent over money owed on a promissory note.

BMO Harris Bank N.A., formerly known as Harris N.A., filed a lawsuit April 24 in Cook County Circuit Court against On-Call Surgical Services, of Lake Bluff, and owner Ronell Showell.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 22, 2008, Harris Bank approved a line of credit agreement with On-Call, requiring the borrower to pay monthly interest payments. The suit says On-Call and its agent, Showell, have failed to make those payments, resulting in default.

As of Dec. 8, 2014, $108,009.63 is owed on the line of credit, plus interest, the suit says. The plaintiff cites a breach of promissory note and breach of guaranty.

BMO Harris Bank seeks the amount owed, plus attorney fees and court costs. It is represented by attorney Martin J. Wasserman, of Carlson Dash in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number: 15-L-4293.
