A woman has sued a Mexican art museum in Chicago, alleging she was injured in a fall at the museum.

Maria Romero filed suit April 28 in Cook County Circuit Court against the National Museum of Mexican Art, citing negligence and carelessness.

According to the complaint, on April 28, 2013, Romero was at the museum, 1852 W. 19th St, Chicago, to see an early afternoon puppet show when the uneven concrete floor in the entryway caused Romero to fall. The lawsuit states her injuries are permanent and she will continue to "suffer pain, discomfort and mental anguish" as well as be disfigured, disabled and lacking a normal life.

Romero seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs. She is represented by attorney Samuel S. Bae, of Des Plaines.

Cook County Circuit Court Case No.: 15-L-4374.
