A woman is suing the city of Chicago, claiming she was injured when she fell on a sidewalk.
Judi Weintraub filed a complaint May 4 in Cook County Circuit Court against the city of Chicago, alleging negligence.
The suit says Weintraub was walking on a public sidewalk maintained by the city on May 21, 2014, in the 200 block of East Ohio Street, when she allegedly fell and injured herself on an allegedly ill-maintained stretch of sidewalk.
The suit cites the city with negligence in failing to correct a dangerous and defective condition; maintain its property; and warn pedestrians about a hazardous condition.
The suit cites permanent personal and pecuniary injuries and seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs. Weintraub is represented by Steven Armbruster, of The Vrdolyak Law Group in Chicago.
