A Cook County man is suing a McDonald's restaurant worker and the company that owns the restaurant at which he works, alleging the employee sprayed cleaning solution on his food and used a metal bar to beat him.

Michael Parker filed a lawsuit Aug. 5, in Cook County Circuit Court against Darryl Haynes, Lofton and Lofton Management and Lofton Holdings Four Inc., a division of McDonald’s ownership, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 15, Haynes practiced careless judgment at the McDonald’s restaurant, 23 N. Western Ave., Chicago, when he allegedly sprayed cleaning solution on Parker's food and used a metal bar obtained from his work site to beat and batter Parker, which caused multiple injuries, including permanent eye damage.

The plaintiff alleges negligence for the defendants further securing the situation.

Parker seeks more than $50,000, plus court costs.  He is represented by attorneys Stephen J. McMullen and John C. Coyne, both of Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015L007981.
