A Cook County resident is suing three businesses on claims of negligence in a 2014 altercation during a concert event on public premises that he states caused him injuries by an unknown intoxicated patron.

Nikko Popp brought a lawsuit against Live Nation Entertainment, First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre, and Live Nation Worldwide Inc. on July 28 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging negligence in an August 2014 incident involving unprovoked acts of violence against the plaintiff.

The suit states that Popp was in attendance at an event at 19100 Ridgeland Ave. in Tinley Park hosted by Live Nation on Aug. 9, 2014.

According to the complaint, Popp suffered personal and pecuniary injuries when he “was repeatedly struck on his body and face by at least one other patron in the presence of a security guard” who was employed by First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre.

The plaintiff charges the defendant with failing to ban intoxicated persons from the premises, train and instruct security personnel, implement procedures, and protect the plaintiff from criminal activities.

Popp demands judgment of more than $50,000, plus attorneys’ fees and costs. He is represented by David Gallagher of The Vrdolyak Law Group in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015L006034.
