A woman is suing her husband’s doctors and the hospital where he was treated, claiming malpractice and wrongful death.

Stephanie Kleiman, administrator of Gary Kleiman’s estate, is suing Alan M. Zunamon, M.D.; Michael J. Waligora, M.D.; Matthew J. Fischer, M.D.; Orchard Medical Group; Northshore University Health System; Northshore University Evanston Hospital; Northshore University Health System Foundation; Northshore University Health System Cardiovascular Institute; Northshore University Health System Faculty Practice Associates; Northshore University Health System Medical Group; and Cardiovascular Associates of Glenbrook and Evanston LLC.

The suit alleges that while under the defendants’ medical care, Kleiman was cleared for a surgical procedure despite an abnormal stress test and an abnormal EKG test. The plaintiff claims Kleiman did not receive a proper angiography or angioplasty/stent procedure and that the defendants neglected to provide proper postoperative care, leading to Kleiman’s death on Aug. 28, 2013.

Emilio E. Machado of the Chicago firm Rubin Machado & Rosenblum LLC is representing the plaintiff in the lawsuit, which seeks damages of more than $50,000 and court costs.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015-L-008489.
