Cook County woman sues R& D Bus Co. over injury claims after incident

Bus

A Cook County woman is suing over claims she was injured on a bus of a certain Chicago-based transportation service.

Lee F. Tolbert filed a lawsuit Aug. 25 in Cook County Circuit Court against R & D Bus Co., citing negligence.

According to the claim, Tolbert suffered severe and permanent injuries, including multiple humerus fractures to her right arm and an acute kidney injury, while traveling on a bus with other senior citizens on their way to a senior citizens event on Aug. 27, 2013, when the driver of the bus suddenly abruptly stopped the bus from traveling without warning.

Tolbert is seeking damages of more than $50,000, plus the costs of this suit and any other relief the court may deem appropriate, for R & D Bus Co.’s negligence to not further forewarn Tolbert or any other of the passengers of the abrupt stop in which she sustained injury and was taken to the hospital, the claim states.

She is being represented by R. Joseph Kramer and Jacob W. Plattenberger of TorHoerman Law LLC in Chicago.
