Two women sue aircraft manufacturer following deadly private plane crash

Two women from New York and Arizona are suing an aircraft manufacturer regarding a dispute surrounding a deadly airplane crash in Palos Hills.

Amina Rehman, administrator of the estate of Tausif Ur Rehman (deceased), and Farahnaz Bandukwala, administrator of the estate of Ali Kanchwala (deceased), filed a lawsuit Aug. 14, in Cook County Circuit Court against Beechcraft Corp. and Honeywell International, and an individual, Lloyd Hetrick, alleging faulty manufacturing and faulty maintenance on the aircraft.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 12, 2014, Tausif Ur Rehman was piloting the Beechcraft Baron 58 plane with passenger Ali Kanchwala on a flight from Midway Airport in Chicago to Lawrence, Kansas, when it crashed in Palos Heights, killing both people.

The plaintiffs seek damages in excess of the minimum allowed under the court's jurisdiction, plus litigation costs and other reimbursements allowed by law. They are represented by attorneys Floyd A. Wisner and Alexandra M. Wisner of Wisner Law Firm in Geneva.
