A Cook County woman is suing a hotel’s owners claiming injuries from a fall suffered on the hotel grounds.

Janetta Morrow filed suit Aug. 19 in Cook County Circuit Court, Law Division, against Vinakom Inc., Vinakaya Hospitality LLC and Vinakaya Hospitality Lisle LLC, alleging negligence that caused her to fall and suffer injuries at the Sheraton Hotel at 3000 Warrenville Road in Lisle.

According to the complaint, on May 11, 2014, Morrow was at the hotel when she attempted to use the stairs adjoining a stage on the property. The stairs moved, which created a gap through which the plaintiff fell. Her injuries include pain, suffering, disfigurement, mental anguish, ongoing rehabilitative care and future medical bills. The suit claims the hotel owners and managers failed to provide safe conditions or warn of potential hazards.

Attorney John P. Kolb of the Chicago law firm Disparti Law Group P.A. is representing the plaintiff, who is seeking damages of more than $50,000, plus the cost of the lawsuit.

Cook County Circuit Court, Law Division case number 2015-L-008493.
