Playgroundequipment

A woman is suing over claims that her son was injured while playing on playground equipment owned by Sauk Village.

Kira Hoover, as mother and next friend to Terrell J. Hoover Jr. (a minor), filed a lawsuit Aug. 27 in Cook County Circuit Court against the village of Sauk Village, citing negligence.

According to the claim, Terrell Hoover was lawfully playing on playground equipment at a Sauk Village playground – located near the open space between 224th Street and Murphy Avenue – when he injured himself on exposed screws on the playground equipment, causing him to suffer permanent damage.

Kira Hoover is seeking damages of more than $50,000, plus court costs, for Sauk Village’s negligence to not further inspect its playground equipment, upon where Terrell incurred injuries, the claim states.

She and her son are being represented by Robert J. Adelman of Levin, Riback Law Group in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015L008822.
