A man has filed a lawsuit on behalf of his deceased wife alleging negligence in recent motor vehicle accident.

Bryan Mraz filed a lawsuit on behalf of his late wife, Jill Mraz, in the Cook County Circuit Court, Law Division on Sept. 24 against Trucking Experts LLC, Lucky Star Management Corp. and Oleh Yakivtsiv, citing negligence.

The plaintiff claims that Yakivtsiv, an employee of Trucking Experts LLC and Lucky Star Management Corp., came into contact with a vehicle operated by Jill Mraz on Sept. 8. A collision between the vehicles occurred upon approaching the intersection of Lake Street and Glen Ellyn Road in Bloomingdale when Yakivtsiv disobeyed a red traffic signal.

As a personal representative of Jill Mraz’s estate, Bryan Mraz claims that injuries that resulted from the collision resulted in Jill Mraz’s death. The plaintiff is therefore requesting compensation under the Illinois Wrongful Death Act and the Survival act.

The plaintiff claims that the defendants were negligent in ensuring that the tractor-trailer was safely and properly operated under their employment, as well as failing to properly train the operator of the truck, Yakivtsiv.

Mraz is demanding judgment against defendants as well as an unspecified sum that does not exceed $50,000 as compensation for damages.

Mraz is represented by David C. Wise of Chicago-based Burke, Wise, Morrissey, & Kaveny law practice.
