A Cook County woman is suing her late husband’s doctor and the hospital where he was treated, alleging wrongful death.

Shazia Ikram, administrator of the estate of Mohammad Ikram, filed a lawsuit Sept. 29 in Cook County Circuit Court against Presence Holy Family Medical Center and Dr. Emmanuel Loutrianakis, individually, and as the hospital’s agent.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 16, 2014, Mohammad Ikram underwent a stress test that had been ordered by his physician, Dr. Ejaz Khan. The test, which took place at Presence Holy Family in Des Plaines, was supervised by Dr. Loutrianakis, the suit says.

The lawsuit states Loutrianakis failed to forward the results of the stress test to the ordering physician. Meanwhile, Ikram died of a heart attack Jan. 3, because the defendants failed to ensure proper follow-up after the test, the suit says.

Ikram seeks a jury trial and damages of more than $50,000. She is represented by attorneys Steven J. Seidman and Melanie K. Fairman of Seidman Margulis Fairman in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015-L-009893.
