Worker sues PlanPilot, alleging breach of contract

0525

A Cook County man is suing his former employer, alleging breach of contract.

William Wendorf filed a lawsuit Oct. 2 in Cook County Circuit Court against PlanPilot, an investment consulting firm, and CEO Mark Olsen.

According to the complaint, in spring 2012, Olsen hired Wendorf to work as a senior consultant for PlanPilot. The suit says Wendorf was assigned an eight-state territory and promised 45 percent commission of his project and retainer sales.

The suit states after working for the defendant for a period of time, Wendorf and PlanPilot disagreed how much compensation he was owed, prompting him to leave the firm. The action is filed under the Illinois Wage Payment and Compensation Act which specifies timely payment of wages owed to separated employees.

Wendorf seeks more than $100,000 in damages, including 2 percent interest on withheld compensation, litigation costs and punitive damages. He is represented by attorney Stephen G. Daday of Klein, Daday, Aretos & O’Donaghue in Rolling Meadows.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015-L-010071.
