Cook County man sues McAllister Nursing, alleging neglect

5801

A Cook County man is suing a Tinley Park nursing home, alleging neglect in a dispute surrounding a woman's death.

Willie Moore, special administrator of the estate of Dorothy Mae Moore, filed a lawsuit Oct. 7 in Cook County Circuit Court against McAllister Nursing and Rehab in Tinley Park.

According to the complaint, between Sept. 19 and Dec. 3, 2013, Dorothy Mae Moore was a resident of McAllister Nursing and Rehab. The suit says Moore, who was admitted with no skin wounds, developed a pressure ulcer during her stay that eventually became infected and was gangrenous.

The lawsuit states Moore’s death, on Jan. 6, 2014, was caused or exacerbated by the pressure ulcers she developed while under the defendant’s care.

Moore seeks a six-person jury trial and damages of more that $50,000, plus court costs. He is represented by attorney Brian J. Holmes of Hurley McKenna & Hurtz in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015-L-010220.
